Tickets Now on Sale for the 2012 Savannah Music Festival!

SAVANNAH, GA - Savannah Music Festival (SMF) announces its 2012 season, a city-wide musical arts event showcasing renowned performers in jazz, classical, Americana and world music against the backdrop of one of America's most enchanting historic districts from March 22 to April 7. Described by The Times of London as "one of the best events around the world," the festival features more than 100 productions during the 17-day event. Highlights include numerous festival debuts and unique collaborations. In addition to a wealth of varied concert programs, SMF gives attendees a chance to hit the dance floor with Cajun, Salsa and Zydeco dance parties, and also presents an unmatched variety of American acoustic music, blues and jazz.
Latino music fans will be especially interested in these performances: Salsa Dance Party featuring The Jimmy Bosch Orchestra and Flamenco guitarist, Paco De Luca.
Jimmy Bosch, a masterful trombonist, composer, entertainer and producer is widely considered to be one of today's top Salsa musicians. His abilities to conquer rhythmic complexities with his heartfelt and gifted compositional and performing styles have made him one of the most “in demand” musicians in the salsa, Latin Jazz and world music genres.
Appearing on over 70 recordings, Bosch has recorded and/or performed with his own band and a “who's who” of Latino musicians including Israel “Cachao” Lopez, Ruben Blades, Celia Cruz, Ray Barretto, Willie Colon, Manny Oquendo y Libre, Paquito D'Rivera, Oscar De Leon, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Marc Anthony, FANIA Allstars, Eddie Palmieri, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Jon Faddis, Arturo O'Farril and many others.
Jimmy will perform two shows (7:30 pm and 10:00 pm) at the Charles H. Morris Center on Saturday, March 31st . Jimmy will bring his high-octane, nine-piece ensemble. All you need to bring is your dancing shoes! Tickets are $35 each.
Paco de Lucia is one of the world's greatest guitarists, as well as the most innovative and influential flamenco artists of the last thirty years. Since the late 1960's his flamenco recordings have had a revolutionary impact, infusing new life into the art form and bringing it world-wide attention.
Paco de Lucia's performances are brilliant celebrations of traditional flamenco forms in instrumentation and composition, including virtuoso dance and soulful vocals in addition to the dizzying melodic and rhythmic output that come from his ensemble.
This guitar master will make his Savannah debut at the Trustee's Theatre on Saturday April 7th at 7:30pm. Ticket prices are $30, $42, $57 and $72, depending on location.
Advance tickets for these events may be purchased in person at the Trustee's Theatre Box office, located at 216 East Broughton Street in downtown Savannah; by phone at 912-525-5050 (Monday-Friday: 10am-5pm); or online at savannahboxoffice.com.
